Google Health, Intel, J&J, Stryker, And Pear Therapeutics Among Global Manufacturers in Attendance at BIOMEDevice Silicon Valley
More than 1,000 medtech executives and R&D engineers gathered in Silicon Valley for two days of in-person sourcing, networking, deal-making, and education.
BIOMEDevice Silicon Valley, an industry-leading Smart Event connecting medtech engineers and cutting-edge companies organized by Informa Markets – Engineering, successfully concluded the two-day exhibition held on December 8 and 9 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. BIOMEDevice Silicon Valley refreshed the attendee and exhibitor experience for the 2021 edition by creating a Smart Event that offers an online experience four weeks before the live event while remaining accessible to registered attendees for four weeks following, thus generating the broadest and most robust cross-section of attendees.

HIGHLY ENGAGED ATTENDEES
With a wide cross-selection of attending companies represented at the trade show, this year’s event delivered a highly engaged audience of more than 1,000 C-suite executives, R&D engineers, and industry professionals with purchasing power seeking solutions to their most complex challenges. Notable companies in attendance include Google Health, Intel, Intuitive Surgical, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Neptune Medical, Oracle, Penumbra, Philips, Siemens Healthineers, Sonora, and Stryker.
“The level of purchasing power in attendance at BIOMEDevice this year underscores the critical role trade shows play in the health and continued advancement of the medtech sector,” said Adrienne Zepeda, Group Event Director, BIOMEDevice Silicon Valley. “Even amidst one of the most trying years in recent history, we are proud to share that this year’s event delivered the highest quality attendee makeup to date, with 11% of attendees holding an R&D engineer title and a whopping 25% holding an executive-level title. While attendance was down comparably to previous years, the industry’s most sought-after companies sent their decision-makers with the intent to ink deals.”
Zepeda continued: “What sets this event apart is its new Smart Event structure that serves as a virtual wrap-around to the live event, providing buyers and suppliers an additional four weeks to hold follow-up conversations with potential new business partners discovered onsite.”

The expo hall hosted nearly 200 exhibitors, ranging from agile start-ups to global companies at the forefront of innovation in the medtech industry. Notable suppliers include Accumold, Cirtec Medical, Heraeus Medical Components, Medbio, Nelson Labs, Oliver Healthcare Packaging, Sager Electronics, Velentium, and Zeus Industrial Products. The digital therapeutics market, for example, is expected to grow from $6 to $9 billion by 2025, equating to an impressive compound annual growth rate of 23.4%. “Many applications within the medtech field are experiencing explosive growth, thus elevating the need for peer-to-peer education to collectively bring new solutions to market and fast-track widespread adoption,” remarked Zepeda.
Influential tech leader and keynote panelist Patrick Bangert, VP of AI at Samsung SDSA, commented: “BIOMEDevice Silicon Valley was an excellent conference and trade show at which I met several new future collaborators and some old friends. Our panel discussion had a great audience who asked insightful questions. I’ll be back!”
