Hinge Health Names Ryan Russell SVP of Design and User Experience and Hassan Asghar CISO

Hinge Health, the world’s most complete Digital Musculoskeletal Clinic, announced two additions to its executive leadership team: Ryan Russell, senior vice president of design and user experience (UX), and Hassan Asghar, chief information security officer (CISO).

Russell joins Hinge Health after nine years as director of user experience (UX) at Amazon, where he led the design of a diverse set of innovative products, including Prime Now, Amazon Key, Hub by Amazon, and Amazon Flex. While at Amazon, Russell founded and grew a multidisciplinary Human Centered Design group from zero to 135+ UXers across five studios in five cities. Before his time at Amazon, Russell created and led McAfee’s Design Studio; launched Cohdoo Highlight, an award-winning audio recording app; founded the nonprofit For the Next, and designed novel consumer computing experiences at Intel. Russell holds an MBA from George Fox University and a BS in software engineering from Oregon Institute of Technology.

As CISO, Asghar leads company-wide information security and IT operations programs. Before joining Hinge Health, he was senior vice president and chief information security officer at Bremer Bank in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Prior to this role, he built an IT risk and controls function at UnitedHealth Group. He started his career at Deloitte & Touche, where he consulted with a number of Fortune 500 clients in the healthcare, medical device, and financial services industries. He holds a BA degree in accounting and management information systems from Luther College.
