Award-Winning AI Chatbot Company Sciensio Rebrands as “42Chat”

When Sciensio was founded over three years ago, its founders set out to create a powerful tech platform that would allow them to build amazing AI Chatbots to support businesses in customer success, marketing, and engagement over regular text. They chose the name Sciensio to reinforce the complex and technical nature of building great AI Chatbots. They added the tagline “The Art & Science of AI Chat,” to illustrate that great bot design was as much art as it is a science. Today, they are the world leader in EventBots, AI Chatbots designed specifically for events fo 10 to 100,000+. Sciensio announced it is rebranding as 42Chat. CEO Chuck Elias explains the origin of the new name. “One of our first big EventBots was with BizBash, one of the innovators in the events industry. BizBash named its EventBot ‘Betty’. Betty was smart and sassy. We were in the early days of bot building and were monitoring every conversation in real-time to make sure she was responding correctly. When Betty was asked, “What’s the meaning of life?”, our team jumped into the conversation and replied ‘42… at least according to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.’” Bob Caldwell, Founding Partner at Sciensio, described his experience. “I was standing in line chatting with another attendee. When I told him we made Betty, his eyes lit up and he said, ‘I love Betty! I asked her what was the meaning of life and she got it right. The delight from such a simple response, ‘42,’ says everything about the power of great conversation design to create an amazing experience.”
With that simple interaction, Sciensio discovered that the key to bringing an AI Chatbot to life was making conversations natural, human-like, and fun. And of course, as Caldwell says “every bot since then knows the answer to ‘What’s the meaning of life?’” Caldwell adds, “The ASCII code for 42 is an asterisk, a character you’ll see in the new company logo. The “*” is a wildcard and can be used to represent an infinite number of things. AI Chatbots are like that, fulfilling an infinite number of jobs by providing instant answers, and connection, over regular text. People are often amazed at how many jobs a Chatbot can do.” The first bots the company built seem “almost primitive,” according to Elias. The company prides itself on rich personalization of the conversations and engagements, the product of successful deployments and increasingly powerful technology.

Bob Caldwell is a serial entrepreneur who successfully built and sold G2 Web Services. He is also a board member, investor, and consultant to Connexion Point, LLC. His philanthropic work, through The Caldwell Family Foundation, focuses on providing food, support, and innovative educational programs to at-risk kids.
