- AWS Sustainable Cities Accelerator supports startups building mobility and transportation solutions to increase the sustainability of fast-growing urban centers
Let’s take a deeper dive into AWS Global Accelerator Programs and how these could drive meaningful innovations to support societies, governments, and industries.
Program 1: AWS Space Accelerator
AWS Space Accelerator is a well-planned virtual program for supporting innovations in space technology. This 4-week business-centric accelerator program will provide mentorship to 10 startup companies who use AWS. AlchemistX and AWS experts will lead the program to transform the future of space research and exploration using advanced technologies.

Program 2: AWS Sustainable Cities Accelerator
As a leading technology behemoth, AWS supports some of the biggest initiatives in clean technology and sustainability domains. Today, modern cities contribute to 75 percent of the global carbon emissions. If we are to become a net zero and carbon-free world, these cities have to be turned into hubs for clean tech investments and innovations. AWS Sustainable Cities Accelerator program is looking to drive technical innovations in these domains, driven by the mission to solve today’s “biggest energy challenges.”
Like the AWS Space Accelerator program, this program 2 is also a fully-virtual 6-week engagement led by Freshwater Advisors and Public Spend Forum, along with other industry-leading partners.
At the time of the announcement, David Weinstein, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Freshwater Advisors said, “The AWS Sustainable Cities Accelerator will provide a unique platform to catalyze these collaborations and bring new solutions to market. We are delighted and honored to be working with AWS to launch this accelerator to develop solutions to support sustainable cities and address the energy and climate crisis.”
Public Spend Forum founder and CEO, Raj Sharma says, “Providing emerging and diverse companies the knowledge, data, and access they need to accelerate their impact in the government market is exciting work and so fundamental to our growth programs. This AWS accelerator provides an amazing opportunity to further our mission to help government market buyers find cutting edge companies while providing emerging companies a high visibility platform that shines a light on their cutting-edge work.”
