SnapLogic Delivers AI-Powered Pipeline Recommendations, an API Developer Portal, and Azure Databricks Support with Latest Platform Release

SnapLogic announced the availability of the August 2019 release of the SnapLogic Intelligent Integration Platform, delivering several new innovations that drive better productivity, deeper insights, and higher performance for customers. With this release, SnapLogic makes enterprise integration even faster and easier with new AI capabilities that recommend completed pipelines – from within the user’s organization or from the SnapLogic Patterns Catalog improving productivity and time-to-value for both citizen and expert integrators alike. The August 2019 platform release also adds a new API developer portal to expose API endpoints to outside developers, as well as new big data processing support for customers building data lakes on Microsoft Azure.

SnapLogic delivers AI-powered pipeline recommendations, an API developer portal, and Azure Databricks support with latest platform release.

“With our latest platform release, we continue to push the boundaries around how AI can be applied to make integration even faster and easier for our customers,” said Vaikom Krishnan, SVP of Engineering at SnapLogic. “Our new AI-powered pipeline recommendations and improved search capabilities will dramatically simplify and accelerate complex integration projects so our customers can focus on strategic pursuits that drive their business forward. But we didn’t stop there a new API developer portal and expanded cloud big data support are among the many innovations that make this platform release a standout.”

Significant new capabilities in the August 2019 release include:

  • Iris AI – Pipeline Recommendations: When SnapLogic introduced Iris AI in May 2017, the platform applied machine learning to recommend the next likely step, or Snap, in building a pipeline. Now, with the August 2019 release, Iris AI will review completed pipelines residing within the user’s organization as well as vetted pipeline patterns from the SnapLogic Patterns Catalog and recommend entire pipelines to the user as a starting point. The user only needs to provide hints, such as the source and target endpoints they want to connect, and Iris AI will suggest complete pipelines for consideration.
  • Iris AI – Improved Search: The platform now provides enhanced search capabilities helping users find Snaps, Pipelines, and Patterns quickly and easily. With this release, when a user initiates a search, Iris AI suggests relevant Snaps based on content from the SnapLogic documentation site, directs users to project spaces containing the pipelines that are most relevant for them, and identifies patterns from the SnapLogic Patterns Catalog that have been successful for other users in their organization. These advanced search capabilities enable less technical users, such as ad-hoc or citizen integrators, to use common terms to find what they need, thereby increasing productivity and shortening time-to-value.
  • API Developer Portal: To simplify administration and enable self-service for API consumers, SnapLogic is introducing an API developer portal with this release. The new portal gives users, both within and outside the organization, a central API repository to browse, discover, and consume APIs that were created in the SnapLogic platform. It provides easy discoverability, through an intuitive search interface, for developers to easily search all APIs that have been exposed externally. This new API developer portal builds on SnapLogic’s API Management solution introduced in November 2018, helping organizations create a digital ecosystem and open up new revenue channels.
  • SnapLogic eXtreme – Azure Databricks Support: When SnapLogic introduced its cloud big data offering, SnapLogic eXtreme, in May 2018, it provided support for customers running big data workloads on Amazon Web Services (AWS). With the August 2019 release, SnapLogic now supports Microsoft Azure environments as well. Customers who have chosen Windows Azure Storage Blob (WASB) as their data lake can now run big data workloads using SnapLogic eXtreme on Azure Databricks.
  • Additional new and enhanced capabilities include:
    • Data Lineage: This release includes new graphical representation of all data sources – including when, where, and how those sources interact with pipelines – allowing users to perform impact analysis or address debugging challenges. For example, if there are changes to a MongoDB database, this new feature helps users determine which pipeline was responsible for updating that database.
    • SSO AuthN Support: This new feature supports additional Single Sign-On (SSO) features, like SSO AuthN signature and Single Log Out (SLO), helping customers meet their enterprise’s security standards across all applications.
    • Disk Space Alerts: Users now get a dashboard alert when the file system free disk space approaches a predefined threshold. Without enough disk space, a pipeline can stall, so this feature allows users to take proactive steps to improve pipeline execution reliability.
    • Amazon Redshift Snaps for eXtreme: Users can now read from and write to Redshift databases in SnapLogic eXtreme pipelines.
    • Enhanced Snaps: Updates were made to commonly used Snaps, including Salesforce, Adobe Cloud Platform, Confluent Kafka, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, PySpark, and more.
