Roots Automation has developed a unique cloud-based, AI-enhanced Digital Coworker that comes pre-packed with knowledge of specific sectors’ language, documents and processes which significantly increases speed to proficiency when compared to human workers, improves quality, reduces repetitive data entry and, importantly, improves over time. Their solution could save traditional RPA users over $2 million per year by replacing existing RPA infrastructure with an AI-based Cognitive Process Automation platform. Earlier this year in January, Roots Automation had introduced a world-class SaaS-based insurtech product for Claims Management. Called Iris, this interactive chatbot-based insurtech solution provides a cost-effective CPA for insurance carriers, third-party claims administrators, and business process outsourcers. Chris’ arrival will further expand the market horizon for this RPA startup in the coming months.

Leading brands in Insurance, Financial Services and Healthcare leverage Roots Automation’s Digital Coworkers to remove the complexity and costs typically associated with alternatives such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and even recruiting in-house teams.

Chris Gayner brings nearly two decades of experience in Strategy, Innovation and Marketing leadership roles spanning Global Services and Technology organizations in Europe and the United States. Gayner will work closely with the executive team in growing Roots Automation’s presence in the U.S and global market.

At the time of this announcement, Chris Gayner, VP Marketing of Roots Automation said –

“I’m very excited to work alongside Chaz and John, and the entire Roots Automation team. The team has created something truly unique in the Digital Coworker, which offers a very powerful proposition for business leaders in Insurance, Banking and Global Business Services – transcending beyond the limitations of traditional automation solutions. The Digital Coworker is something I believe will change the way modern organizations think about how work is done, and by whom.”

Gayner joins from SYKES Digital Services (acquired by SITEL) where he was responsible for Strategy, Innovation and Labs. Additionally, Gayner has held senior positions at Genfour (acquired by Accenture) and Symphony Ventures (acquired by SYKES).

“The addition of Chris to the team marks an important milestone in our continued expansion at a critical moment in global business,” said Chaz Perera, CEO and co-founder of Roots Automation. “The global pandemic has dramatically accelerated the need for digital transformation across the world, with business leaders fundamentally re-imagining work in response to seismic shifts in the global talent market. We are seeing a surge in demand from leaders looking to offset skills gaps and augment the incumbent team with modern tools and technologies to increase their performance and morale.”

“We are seeing companies – like Protective Insurance – realize significant productivity gains in their middle and back office within 6 months of deploying one of our Digital Coworkers,” says John Cottongim, CTO and co-founder of Roots Automation.

John added, “Our vision is to create Digital Coworkers that are intelligent by design – replicating more and more cognitive tasks that a human does in the middle and back office. As we grow and expand – noting we have tripled in size in the last 12 months – bringing on strategic hires such as Chris will help us realize this vision.”

Currently, Roots Automation provides Digital Coworkers as a Service for companies of all sizes to support daily operations, reduce time spent on low-value tasks, and free up employee time to focus on customers and growth opportunities.
