TaskUs Invests in Conversational AI to Support WFH Initiatives and to Prepare Rapid Hiring Ramp-Up
The Digital-Minded Outsourcing Giant Has Spent Recent Weeks Taking Preemptive Steps to Adapt Their Operations for the Government Mandated Lock Down While Preparing Its Global Expansion Plan
TaskUs has been an industry leader when it comes to adapting and protecting their employees in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Using innovative automation technology, the company is gearing up to add thousands of associates in the coming weeks and is preparing every one of them for their return to work in a post-pandemic world.

TaskUs, which employs thousands of knowledge workers globally, with offices in the U.S., Philippines, India, Mexico and Greece, anticipated that the lockdown measures would have a devastating economic impact and acted swiftly to mitigate it. Having personalized conversations with tens of thousands of associates and job seekers in a few days is beyond the capabilities of any recruitment team, which is where technology came to the rescue. In partnership with recruitment automation specialist Talkpush, TaskUs developed Lizzie, a conversational AI able to answer questions on company policies, health and safety concerns, WFH programs, and which will prepare its workforce for the largest re-mobilization in the company’s history.
In the process, TaskUs will be creating thousands of new jobs and helping domestic economies return to normalcy faster.
“We wanted to retain the same level of accessibility and responsiveness as before, but at a scale we had never done before,” said Carmela Sais VP of Recruitment, TaskUs. “We also wanted to create a friendly experience that would help relieve our candidates of some of the anxiety generated by the pandemic.”

TaskUs has taken other measures to relieve stress and cope with the consequences of COVID-19. They guaranteed full compensation for all their global staff regardless of their ability to work for at least two weeks until they were productive from home. To that end, the company went door-to-door delivering computers and other electronics so that their employees could set up their home offices.
The results have been remarkable:
- 90+% of their clients have approved our WFH model with temporary waivers.
- Over 90% of frontline employees across the globe are successfully working from home TODAY.
- 75% of their South East Asia production capacity is currently back online with a WFH model.
- 100% of the North America, European and India capacity is online and available for WFH.
- Hiring is still going on globally (through virtual interviews) to fulfill growing client demand.
This initiative demonstrates that with the right tech stack and strategy, large employers can adapt to new WFH practices in a matter of weeks, and in the process help to accelerate the recovery of the economy.
