Ford, Amazon & Autonomic Join Forces for Global Expansion of the Connected Vehicle

Ford and Autonomic, makers of Transportation Mobility Cloud (TMC), have collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in order to expand the Cloud for Vehicle manufacturers. The deal will apply globally and has been signed as a multi-year contract so that the transportation industry has access to extensive Connectivity and a Cloud hosted vehicle development platform.

“This collaboration will significantly expand our opportunity to deliver the very best experiences to Ford vehicle and mobility customers,” said Marcy Klevorn, president of Ford Mobility. “I am excited that our future cloud standard for connected vehicle solutions will be powered by AWS in addition to Autonomic’s Transportation Mobility Cloud. Working with AWS and Autonomic, Ford and our mobility partners will have access to the industry-leading mobility platform.”

The partnership helps the world’s largest Cloud network AWS to power the automotive exclusive cloud leader, Autonomic —the company is fully owned by the Ford Motor Company. Both Ford and Autonomic chose AWS for its global availability and the depth of its portfolio. Autonomic is also an AWS technology partner which will allow the former to work with other independent vendors to developed innovative Cloud-based services for vehicles.
