Ericom Connect Remote Application and Desktop Solution Now Available as a Cloud Service
Browser-based, clientless solution securely connects users to the resources they need over the Ericom Global Cloud platform
Ericom Software, a leader in secure web and application access solutions, announced that it is making its award-winning Ericom Connect solution available as a service in the Ericom Global Cloud, the company’s globally distributed, low-latency cloud platform. With this multi-tenant enterprise offering, organizations can enable remote workforces by securely connecting users to the private applications and in-office desktops they need to stay productive, without provisioning infrastructure and installing and maintaining software on their own servers.
Ericom Connect provides secure, centrally managed access to Windows and Linux applications and user desktops, from any device, with powerful remote access functionality that provides a seamless and familiar experience for end users. The cloud service console offers IT administrators security and management controls that simplify the tasks of publishing applications, provisioning desktops, and setting access policies. Users simply connect to the desktops and applications they need to get their work done through standard web browsers or a natively installed client.

Organizations may choose to integrate the service with their existing VPNs or utilize its built-in secure communications gateway to encrypt communications and offload traffic from their VPNs. Ericom Connect also has built-in SSO support, making it simple for organizations to leverage their existing identity-based access policies. Additional security features include role-based administration, group-level access and policy management, and application usage monitoring and alerting. HTML5 support is provided across all major browsers to simplify the process of connecting all users’ devices to mission-critical resources. To enable IT admins as well as users to work remotely, Ericom Connect can be provisioned without installing any software directly on in-office desktops or users’ remote devices.
Customers can also benefit from the Zero Trust security features of a complementary solution, Ericom Application Isolator, which was introduced earlier this year. This solution addresses the security risks created by the overly broad access rights often granted to users within corporate networks, which create an environment that hackers or malicious insiders can exploit to move laterally (east-west) within a network to spread attacks like ransomware. The solution prevents attacks by limiting remote and internal application access and visibility to only what is typically required for each user. Applications are cloaked from unauthorized users, stopping the spread of threats by making them invisible to would-be attackers.
