Improved Performance, Faster Speed with Workspace ONE SaaS Modernization
There have been colossal advancements resulting in tremendous growth in the amount as well as the type of mobile and desktop endpoints secured by Workspace ONE in the last decade.
With VMware’s modernized Workspace ONE SaaS architecture, organizations can be assured of 10x performance and scale improvements2.
To deliver innovative solutions and match customer needs simultaneously, VMware’s new containerized architecture imbibes the SaaS leading practices approach.
Workspace ONE Architecture – What Brands can Expect:
Improved Performance and Scalability
The first and foremost advantage for brands is that they can now comfortably amplify their deployment, to at least tens of thousands of devices while maintaining high performance on resource workloads.
- Upwards of 10x improved resource delivery performance for apps and profiles across all device platforms.
- Improved console load times for a better admin experience.

Quicker Feature Velocity along with Enhanced Product Quality
The modular architecture enables more responsive development and greater product reliability. With this, customer IT teams can depend on VMware for same-day feature support for the latest OEM and platform configurations.
Modern SaaS Platform Enabling New Value-Add Services
The modern architecture brings through new platform services like the Workspace ONE Freestyle Orchestrator and Desired State Management. This helps the IT services with a low-code and automated toolkit to offer solutions to higher-order business problems across endpoint management, security, and user experience.
Use Case of Workspace One UEM
Presenting a use case of Workspace ONE, Keith Bradley, vice president of IT and security, at Nature Fresh Farms states that it has enabled the brand to ‘extend the ease of use for both remote workers that work for the company and workers that don’t.’
The brand is able to quickly deploy Workspace ONE to any device and establish a secure method for anyone to connect to the company’s applications.”
Phil Hochmuth, program vice president, Endpoint Management and Enterprise Mobility, IDC, pointed out, “As Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) technology continues to mature, VMware is driving innovation with Workspace ONE. By modernizing their SaaS platform, they’ve positioned themselves to deliver faster feature velocity and performance improvements.
“Endpoint management teams play a critical role in improving operational efficiency and security across the digital workspace. To that end, the automation and desired state management capabilities Workspace ONE can provide holds great promise for helping these organizations.”
The freedom to Automate Anywhere
VMware first mentioned a unified orchestration framework at VMware Explore 2022. The brand wanted the orchestration framework to extend the use of Freestyle Orchestrator capabilities beyond UEM use cases, ensuring its availability across all Workspace ONE services and third-party applications. For the existing Workspace ONE Intelligence customers, the legacy automation will be replaced by the unified Freestyle Orchestrator canvas. Using a modern, low-code canvas interface, customers can now create powerful, policy-based workflows.
Extending upon the unified orchestration, VMware is also announcing the general availability of the new Workspace ONE Marketplace. With marketplace integrations, organizations can connect to third-party cloud applications and offer pre-packaged solutions including actions, templates, and scripts. IT can simplify and streamline a wide range of use cases with pre-packaged solutions and low-code orchestration, including licensing optimization, security quarantine workflows, and more with pre-packaged solutions and low-code orchestration.
Apps on Demand – Modernizing Application Delivery for Published Apps
With VMware App Volumes, VMware now offers Apps on Demand for published apps, building on the Apps on Demand functionality launched last year. The new functionality will empower the IT team to reduce management time and infrastructure costs of traditionally published app deployments.
In addition to eliminating the need for dedicated app farms, VMware App Volumes provides a modern app delivery model where apps are deployed on demand to generic RDSH servers as users access them. This will result in removing management overhead and infrastructure costs of traditionally published app farms built for peak usage requirements.
Additionally, App Volumes enable simple app and OS management while reducing the need to create and manage a lot of images.
The App Volumes platform lets customers capture even legacy apps and publish them anywhere – on-premises, in the cloud, or across hybrid clouds.
