A life that mesmerized millions of fans with phenomenal episodes of emotion, strength, and aura. This is more than a tribute to a childhood superhero… it’s a way to continue his legendary ideas that make any marketer aspire to do things that only superheroes do. “They save the Planet… on the D-day”.”
I think Stan Lee would be missed by marketers today, especially Influencers. Here are five valuable business lessons every business, especially those in the digital publishing ecosystem, could learn from Stanley Martin Lieber, aka Stan Lee.
The Start is Humble: We All Dream About Writing that “Great American Novel”
In his youth, Stan Lee dreamed about writing a magnanimous chronicle of American history, featuring a host of real-life superheroes in his first book. From a humble Jewish background, he rose quickly through the rungs of Timely Comics and evolving into the goose that laid many golden eggs- Marvel Comics.
In his own words, he had to ensure that the team of writers, graphic designers and publishers did not get to bat an eyelid at work. Stan Lee would say, “In those days [the artists] dipped the pen in ink, [so] I had to make sure the inkwells were filled.”
Live with the Flawed Humanity in Life; Not at Work
We all have flaws, even superheroes. Stan’s heroes came with flawed humanity who often have a lasting trouble with a sparkline demeanor. You may survive the harsh life with flawed humanity, but not at work. When you are doing what you do best, give your flawed humanity rest.
