NTT Ltd’s 1st Anniversary: A Year of Rapid Innovation with Security at its Core

On 1 July, the leading global technology services company NTT Ltd. completed its first year as a conglomerate since bringing together 31 companies and 40k employees under one brand. Last year, NTT Ltd. not only led the way through its various organization restructuring and rebranding efforts but also took giants steps toward making the world a better place with innovations.

In a year that saw a massive upheaval in the global economy fired up by uncertainties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NTT Ltd. has kept the hopes intact with its business continuity plans. Last week, the company confirmed that the pandemic has made little or no impact on business operations.

NTT achieved the unique feat in the ab-normal times of COVID-19 by putting employees, customers, and sustainable technology at the center of its business continuity plans for 2020. In the last one year, NTT has played a big role in the sustainable technology sector.

Quick Numbers:

  • Enabled 500,000 new home workers between March and May 2020
  • Deployed 150,000 VPN connections and managing 145 new digital events per day
  • 304% increase in conferencing usage in March 2020
  • Developed a hybrid workforce proposition for organizations using technology to manage both remote and onsite employees
  • $625 Million USD Investment planned for 2020-2021, to expand its Data Centers locations in the UK
  • $365 billion funding reserved for Research and Development activities across the world
  • Recognized as one of the “Business Avenger” for Goal 11 initiative, formulated as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

Making Remote Operations look Easy during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Being a technology powerhouse, NTT had the advantage to pull through the pandemic on its own. But, it chose to go a step ahead and play a leadership role, enabling thousands of frontline workers and remote IT teams to avail of its widely-acclaimed solutions and services. In addition to securing remote workplace operations with seamless VPN connectivity and event management solutions, NTT also ensured that these teams and participants are protected from any kind of cyber attack.

For example, NTT Ltd. deployed its highly-skilled cybersecurity executives and consultants in high-risk zones. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, NTT Ltd. employees were fighting cyber-attacks through the Hospital Incident Response Solution.

Remote Access Services versus Cyberattacks: NTT Ltd. on the Frontline with MSP Innovations

While the healthcare workers were fighting the coronavirus pandemic that had its origins in Wuhan in mainland China, NTT Ltd. was fighting a different battle against another unfamiliar evil — the cybercriminals.

According to its latest report on the global managed services industry, NTT Ltd. pointed out that reducing security risks remains one of the most important reasons to choose and deploy a managed service provider (MSPs).

The report states that MSPs add incredible value to security postures (44%) and financial stability to the overall business (43%). Almost a similar percentage of respondents also feel that automation is the true driver of an MSP’s effectiveness in the new-age of IT management– a highly competitive space that is already witnessing the widening of gaps between the Cloud service platforms, Big Data Analytics and AIOps service providers.

However, NTT Ltd. remains firmly in the leadership position during this transition to the neo-IT era, an era that is witnessing a rapid rise of the Open Banking and Digital Financial Services.
