Strata Identity Appoints Industry Luminary Gerry Gebel to Lead Standards Initiatives

Former Burton Group VP and Service Director will Evangelize Standards-based Approaches for Multi-cloud Identity Management

Strata Identity, the distributed multi-cloud identity orchestration company, announced the appointment of Gerry Gebel as Head of Standards for the company. In this newly created role, Gerry will promote standards-based approaches for addressing the challenges of managing distributed multi-cloud and hybrid cloud/on-premises identity systems. For more than 20 years, Gerry has provided requirements definition, architecture development and strategic planning for identity management projects with Fortune 500 corporations.

“Gerry and I have known each other since his time at Burton Group, where he was instrumental in making the SAML standard a reality,” said Eric Olden, CEO of Strata. “He is one of the sharpest minds in identity and will play an important role in helping Strata educate the market on the need for using standards to unify siloed multi- and hybrid-cloud identity. We are fortunate to have Gerry on our team.”

Gerry joins Strata from Axiomatics, where he served as vice president of business development for the global provider of access controls solutions. Previously, he was Vice President & Service Director with identity-focused research firm Burton Group for nearly 10 years, covering topics such as authentication, biometrics, federated identity, PKI architecture, identity management, policy-based controls, user provisioning, privacy, directory services, and security architecture. Gerry also worked as a Senior Consultant with Burton Group, assisting Fortune 500 corporations implement large scale identity management projects. He started his career in the technology group at JPMorgan Chase Bank.
