With AI-powered Test Case Generation, QA teams can create high-quality, comprehensive test cases in a fraction of the time using an intuitive three-step workflow that maintains exceptional human control and flexibility. Unlike other generic and untrained AI testing solutions, this feature allows testers to review, refine, and guide the AI outputs before final generation for a more contextual and accurate outcome. By keeping human expertise at the forefront, users can direct the AI’s focus before execution, rather than having to clean it up afterward.

“By embedding Sembi IQ into TestRail, we’ve created an AI capability that truly understands testing, making it easier for every QA professional to achieve higher coverage with less manual effort,” said Jorge Spratley, Group Product Manager at Sembi. “Instead of replacing testers, our tools amplify their expertise, giving them time back to focus on high-value work like strategy, exploratory testing, and validation. This is just the beginning of a broader vision where AI helps QA teams work smarter, not harder.”

The new update also introduces AI BDD Scenario Generation, which empowers QA teams to automatically transform requirements into clear, behavior-driven development (BDD) scenarios that align with their existing methodology. With multi-language input and output support, this feature enables global collaboration and ensures teams can generate consistent, high-quality scenarios across diverse environments.

Key Benefits Include:

• 90% Faster Test Case Creation: Accelerate test creation without sacrificing quality. Fully embedded in existing workflows, requiring no process changes or learning curve.
• Full Control & Flexibility: Review, edit, and guide AI suggestions in real time. Fine-tune coverage, select relevant cases, and recycle ideas without starting over.
• Human-in-the-Loop: AI enhances tester expertise while keeping humans in control for precision and accountability.
• Improved Coverage: Detects edge cases and overlooked scenarios to boost product quality.
• Global Accessibility: Multi-language support, secure data residency, role-based access, and full audit trails ensure compliance and governance.
• Built With Testers: Developed through extensive user interviews and co-creation, ensuring the tool solves real problems that testers face daily.
• Enterprise-Ready: Robust security, access controls, and audit logging for enterprise environments, ensuring complete data sovereignty and privacy.

“With Sembi IQ at its core and decades of QA expertise to draw on, TestRail’s AI delivers outputs that are practical, relevant, and aligned with industry best practices,” said Katrina Collins, AI Product Manager at TestRail. “As QA teams navigate more complex testing challenges, this marks the start of a new era in smarter, more proactive QA.”

Collins added, “I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished, and this is just the beginning. Our AI roadmap extends well beyond test case creation, with upcoming innovations in test automation and predictive insights designed to help teams anticipate and prevent issues before they ever reach production.”
