According to a report by SlashData, python’s popularity has been so influential among developers that it has now surpassed Java in terms of popularity.

According to the report, there were 7.6 million developers using java, while the number of developers using python stood at 8.2 million.

In its report, the company clearly noted that “The rise of machine learning is a clear factor in its popularity. A whopping 69 percent of machine-learning developers and data scientists now use Python, compared with 24 percent of them using R.”
Jory Schwach, CEO asserted that python was easy for both beginners as well as advanced users. He further added that python enabled coders to “skip learning the nuances that are necessary in other, more structured languages like Java.”
