Clarify Health Welcomes Niall Brennan as Chief Analytics and Privacy Officer

Clarify Health, a leading platform analytics company delivering real-world insights to healthcare and life sciences organizations, announced the appointment of Niall Brennan as its first Chief Analytics and Privacy Officer. Brennan’s appointment will drive continued innovation to Clarify’s industry-leading analytic solutions, advancing industry standards and establishing the precedent on how patient journey insights are shared between payers, providers, patients, and life sciences companies to improve care and power the adoption of value-based contracting models. Brennan will also lead the Clarify Health Institute, which will leverage the company’s data assets to provide thought leadership and partner with academics and policymakers across the industry.

Brennan is a seasoned executive with deep knowledge of data, analytics, and the healthcare industry. He joins Clarify from his prior role as President and CEO of the Health Care Cost Institute, and previously served as the Chief Data Officer at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid, where he led the Obama administration’s healthcare transparency efforts, built an advanced analytics enterprise, and played a key role in implementing numerous Affordable Care Act provisions, including the Qualified Entity Program and the Physician Payments Sunshine Act. He is a nationally recognized expert in healthcare policy, data transparency, and the use of healthcare data to enable and accelerate health system change.

“I am excited to join Clarify to help the company accelerate their roadmap for clinical and analytical insights that drive change across our industry,” said Brennan. “I was attracted to Clarify’s commitment to help organizations move away from cumbersome, manual analytics to self-service, on-demand insights that result in faster decisions, as well as better health and outcomes.”

At a time of rapid regulatory change within healthcare, Brennan will also be responsible for managing Clarify’s HIPAA compliance and covering parallel regulatory requirements that may arise. This will further accelerate the adoption of Clarify’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that delivers on-demand precision insights to payers, providers, and life sciences companies.

Jean Drouin, MD, CEO of Clarify Health said, “Niall brings a proven track record of driving results and accelerating research and innovation. At CMS, he worked to implement visionary changes to healthcare financing and delivery. We are thrilled to welcome him to our team. His expertise within the market will help Clarify and the industry at large address one of the biggest challenges of our time: making healthcare data insightful and actionable, while safeguarding patient privacy.”
