Jen Underwood Joins Aible as VP of Product Management
Analytics Industry Expert Signs on with Aible to Empower Business People to Create AI that Yields Measurable Business Results
Aible, the leader in real-world AI for business impact, announced the appointment of Jen Underwood as Vice President of Product Management.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Aible team”
Underwood, a widely-respected analytics industry veteran, has spent more than two decades building analytics solutions. She is known for her role in helping revive Microsoft PowerBI, and re-launching the offering into a market leader. Most recently, she led citizen data science product marketing for DataRobot.
“Jen has worked with hundreds, if not thousands, of companies to deliver AI projects,” said Arijit Sengupta, Founder and CEO of Aible. “Her experience building best-in-class analytics products customers love, and her passion for empowering citizen data scientists make her the ideal person to help us further accelerate Aible’s impact.”
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Aible team,” said Underwood. “Aible has a rare combination of an AI business focus, market-leading innovation, and amazingly talented people.”

Underwood brings a unique blend of analytical, product management, and design skills to Aible, joining a team of world-class AI experts who have worked closely with business people and citizen data scientists. CEO Sengupta and Aible co-founder Jonathan Wray have contributed to more than a thousand AI projects each throughout their careers. With the addition of Underwood, Aible has put together a formidable team of AI veterans who truly understand business people needs.
Aible empowers business people and analysts to optimize AI for business impact. Traditional AI trains models for academic metrics like accuracy, but requires expert data scientist or consulting assistance to select the right model to improve business outcomes. With Aible, business users specify the relative costs, benefits, and capacity constraints to train and compare models in the context of the business to optimize model results.
Underwood and Aible CEO Sengupta will be speaking at the Gartner IT Symposium in Orlando, FL on Wednesday, 10/23, 3:15pm in The Osprey Ballroom. The talk is titled: “Up to 85% of AI Projects Fail! Learn from 1,000+ AI Projects How to Beat the Odds,” and the two will share industry insights and lessons learned. On October 31 at 10am PT, Underwood will join Aible CEO Sengupta and Aible co-founder Wray for a special Aible Halloween Webinar, “AI Horror Stories.” The three industry veterans will share personal stories about AI projects gone wrong, and how businesses can prevent their own AI mishaps.

Underwood and Aible CEO Sengupta first met at a BI bake-off during the Gartner BI Summit in which Sengupta’s company, BeyondCore, made a surprisingly strong showing against large industry leaders, detecting hidden patterns that industry experts had failed to detect. Underwood and Sengupta subsequently worked together at BeyondCore prior to its acquisition by Salesforce. Underwood says joining Aible gives her an opportunity to influence solution design to create AI that delivers business impact in a way that’s simple, fast, and secure.
“Most AI vendors offer solutions that require businesses to learn how to interpret AI, rather than AI that can speak the language of business,” Underwood says. “Instead of trying to train business users to become data scientists, Aible empowers business users to train AI to optimize outcomes.”
Underwood holds a Bachelor of Business Administration/Marketing degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and a post-graduate certificate in Computer Science/Data Mining from the University of California, San Diego. She’s also been honored as an IBM Analytics Insider and Tableau Zen Master.
