Symend Adds Technology Leader John Connors to Board of Directors
Ignition Managing Partner and Former Microsoft Executive Joins Science-Driven Digital Engagement Leader
Symend, the leading customer engagement platform designed to better treat and retain financially at-risk customers, announced that John Connors, former Microsoft senior executive and Ignition Partners managing partner, has joined its board of directors. Connors brings more than 30 years of experience as a builder, leader and advisor of high-growth companies.
At Microsoft, Connors led multiple worldwide divisions including finance, information technology, worldwide operations and the enterprise sales group. Additionally, at Ignition Partners he has invested in and served as a board member of category-leading and high-growth companies such as Splunk and Icertis.
Connors’ experience working with high-growth multinational corporations and early stage category leaders will be vital in his contributions to Symend as the company continues to scale into new verticals and expand globally. As a member of the board, Connors will provide strategic counsel on product development and delivery, market expansion, corporate culture and structure evolution.
“The team at Symend has moved quickly on the journey of building a category leader and consequential company,” said Connors. “This is the fastest-growing company I’ve ever been a part of, with hyper growth over the last 18 months. As the world of commerce moves toward relationship-based models, there’s a unique opportunity to reinvent the customer engagement category that goes beyond at-risk customers and encompasses relations with all customers.”
The addition of Connors comes at a crucial time as Symend swiftly increases its customer base by disrupting legacy collection techniques with industry-leading technology that leverages behavioral science, advanced AI and machine learning. The platform enables service providers and financial institutions to engage and retain at-risk customers by creating positive outcomes.
The company partners with most major telecom companies in North America, large U.S. carriers and a leading Canadian national bank. The Symend team is expected to hit 500% year- over-year growth by the end of 2020.
“We are thrilled to have John join the Symend board of directors as we continue our hyperscale growth,” said Hanif Joshaghani, co-founder and CEO. “John has experienced rapid-growth, high-velocity environments with a number of the world’s leading companies. He understands deeply both enterprise technology and business processes. Furthermore, his experience and relationships in one of the world’s leading technology regions will serve Symend well as the company commits itself to creating a vibrant technology hub in Calgary.”
