Tilt Five Names New Chief Operating Officer and Chief Business Officer
Appoints Industry Veterans James Stanford Chief Operating Officer and Hans ten Cate as Chief Business Officer
Tilt Five an entertainment system provider that uses proprietary Augmented Reality (AR) glasses, a game board, and a wand controller to engage players in tabletop and video games in 3D holographic environments, announced that James Stanford has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer and Hans ten Cate has moved from acting COO to Chief Business Officer. Stanford will work closely with founder and CEO Jeri Ellsworth to accelerate Tilt Five’s vision of changing the course of Augmented Reality gaming. Ten Cate will now oversee business development and growing partnerships with developers.

Stanford held a Director role at an SGS company – Maine Pointe as the trusted advisor to CEO and COOs transforming companies with immediate and sustainable EBITDA growth while implementing the best business practices in medical device, Department of Defense, aviation, consumer electronics and renewable energy companies while leading teams to deliver results up to 1:6 ROI. Formerly, Stanford was a Logitech executive leading Retail and OEM business units. Stanford holds an MBA from University of San Francisco, a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Widener University.

Hans ten Cate
Hans ten Cate has 30 years’ leadership experience at tech companies and media giants such as Sony PlayStation and Electronic Arts (EA) as well as founding and advising startups in AR & VR, digital entertainment & games. At EA he was Executive Producer creating award-winning games such as The Sims and The Simpsons, accounting for more than $550 million in sales. He later led business development for EA Partners, fostering collaborations with game studios worldwide. He also led divisions as VP of Business Development at MaxPlay, a cloud-based games technology startup, and VP of Games Business Development at Deluxe Entertainment, a global digital entertainment services company. Ten Cate holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA).
