R2.ai Launches as an ‘AI That Creates AI’ Company
R2.ai, the AI that creates AI, formally announced its company today. After investing three years carefully designing and successfully testing its products with early adopters, R2.ai presents ‘R2 Learn’ as the first entry in its full suite of AI solutions for all customers and will offer a trial version of ‘R2 Learn’ to the public this fall.
“R2.ai’s mission is to make AI accessible for all and drive mass AI adoption. In addition to R2 Learn, we are developing R2 Suite solutions to empower businesses of all sizes to turn big data or human expertise into AI solutions and enable AI to have human-like creativity,” said R2.ai CEO Yiwen Huang. “All of this will be done without a significant investment of time, data scientists or big data resources. The R2 Suite solution is under development with a number of use cases in progress.”
The race to incorporate AI across all industries has begun. Yet, a dramatic shortage of AI talent in the market prevents widespread AI adoption. According to a survey by Cowen and Company, 81% of IT leaders are currently investing or planning to invest in AI. However, despite high expectations, only a small percentage of companies have begun incorporating AI into their business models. Businesses that have started AI adoption often find the actual process and implementation very slow, tedious and flawed.
R2 Learn is a cutting-edge AI technology that helps companies automatically and intelligently turn data into advanced AI solutions in minutes not days, with or without AI expertise.

Key benefits and differentiators of R2 Learn include the following:
- An end-to-end modeling workflow that handles everything from data quality to model deployment.
- An optimization engine that identifies the most optimum AI model quickly and with the least amount of computing resources.
- Self-learning capabilities that act similarly to those of experienced human data scientists to constantly improve modeling processes. The more R2 Learn does, the better and faster it becomes.

In a recent healthcare customer use case aimed at predicting patients’ risk of Type 2 Diabetes, R2 Learn outperformed existing tools and human expertise both in terms of time and accuracy. What took human scientists months to predict with 78% accuracy took R2.ai minutes to predict with 89% accuracy.
“The applications of AI are limitless. R2.ai’s team understands AI’s remarkable potential and is developing a R2 Suite to help a wider range of companies — even companies without big data — to find their real-world AI solution,” said Huang. “Our goal is to enable humans to do more of the fulfilling and high-value work they love and less of the tedious tasks that consume their time and resources.”

In a custom cycling apparel company’s use case, R2.ai used its R2 Suite — which is currently under development — to turn human designers’ industry expertise into a top-notch creative AI model. With R2 Suite, human designers can dramatically boost their productivity and meet rigorous customer requirements. R2 Suite can work with a variety of companies that lack AI resources and don’t own big data.
“We are currently seeking the right strategic partners and investors to join us in our ambitious vision to drive mass AI adoption. We are expanding quickly and are hiring talent in Silicon Valley, Shanghai and Hangzhou, China,” says Huang.
