Chiliz Selects Ankr as Main RPC Provider to Deliver Easy Access to Its Layer-1 Sports Blockchain

• Ankr, trusted by Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon and more world-class blockchains, will become the Main RPC Provider on Chiliz Chain. An RPC is a computer program that connects blockchain applications, such as dApps (decentralised applications), centralised exchanges and crypto wallets to blockchains.

Chiliz, the leading blockchain provider for the global sports industry, has announced that Ankr will provide the main RPC for Chiliz Chain.

The RPC (remote procedure call) is a computer program that connects blockchain applications, such as dApps (decentralised applications), centralised exchanges and crypto wallets to blockchains.

Ankr’s best-in-class RPC, trusted by world-leading blockchains, including Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain and Polygon, will facilitate fast, reliable access between blockchain applications and Chiliz Layer-1 blockchain for sports.

Chiliz originally partnered with Ankr to lead Chiliz Chain development back in February 2022. The Web3 infrastructure provider will also become a Node Validator on Chiliz Chain, running two validator nodes, with the second acting as a spare candidate.

A Layer-1, EVM-compatible, interoperable ecosystem,  Chiliz Chain will introduce a system of 11 active Proof-of-Staked Authority (PoSA) node validators, which will include some of the most respected names in blockchain and, eventually, leading sports properties. Node Validators on Chiliz Chain will be responsible for verifying the projects that will form the backbone of Web3 in sport, creating a highly secure environment from which approved developers can build. Ankr joins Jump Crypto, Paribu and Meria (previously known as Just Mining) as the first 4 validators to be announced on the chain.

Exploring new ways to bring fans and communities together with the teams and brands they love will drive innovation on Chiliz Chain. Chiliz will also foster more innovation through Chiliz Labs, the $50M Jump Crypto backed accelerator and incubator for early stage sports-focused blockchain projects looking to build on the Chiliz Chain. A host of Web3 sports projects, including Web3 games, digital collectible and NFT ticketing initiatives and community, social gaming and AI platforms will be unveiled over the coming months.

All fees on Chiliz Chain will be paid using Chiliz’ native token CHZ. CHZ holders can now also play a role in the development of the ecosystem and be rewarded for doing so by their CHZ on the chain.
