Private Artist Announces NFT Sale for Collection of Universe-Inspired Black Hole Artwork, Drawing $9.3 Million Valuation
A private artist has announced a non-fungible token (NFT) sale for his stunning digital art collection of universe-inspired work. Valued at $9.3 million, the collection is one of the first of its kind retail as an NFT. The artwork will debut on OpenSea, an exclusive online marketplace later this month.
The digital art collection features depictions of a black hole in stunning and dynamic detail, capturing the beauty and magic of the world just beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Captured seven years before the first pictures of a black hole were taken and released to the public, the art collection is a reversal of the inception of our universe, depicting a universe existing and a Big Bang occurring, which entrapped the entire universe with it. In vivid, awe-inspiring, and colorful detail, the collection brings the universe to life in ways few artists have ever been able to capture before, having a jaw-dropping effect on people who look at the artwork.
“I have long been fascinated with space and the outer limits of our universe,” remarked the artist, who has elected to stay anonymous for this sale. “This project was almost a decade in the making and inspired by the wonders of our natural world, including the Big Bang and inception of life as we know it. My first public NFT release, I am excited to share this collection of digital art with the world,” he added.
The NFT, or a digital asset that represents a real-world object, like artwork, can be purchased using cash or cryptocurrency. NFTs have gained notoriety as an increasingly popular way to buy and sell digital artwork, and such tokens are one of a kind with unique identifying codes that establish ownership.
