“NCSOFT was looking for ways to optimize their global gaming platform with the user experience in mind,” said Jimmy Chang, Chief Product Officer at Workspot. “In conjunction with Google Cloud, we are able to provide NCSOFT with a Cloud PC solution that monitors the gaming environment, allows them to experience what end users are experiencing globally, optimize performance, and t********** in real time to mitigate a disruption. We are pleased to further NCSOFT’s goal of providing the highest quality gaming experience.”
NCSOFT needed a computing environment that could replicate the real-world environments for their tens of thousands of users around the world. The main objective was to monitor NCSOFT’s online servers 24/7, 365 days a year, using the same network and OS environments as the real users, enabling the NCSOFT team to anticipate adverse conditions and respond when an anomaly is detected. After testing a variety of vendors, the company selected Workspot, as it also supports GPU cloud workloads for gaming users, provides high-performance Windows environments – all based on Google Cloud – and is able to meet the company’s requirements for global reach, scalability and flexibility.
“NCSOFT has been working closely with Google for a long time, operating numerous servers across Google Cloud regions globally,” said Youngmin Noh, Executive Director of NCSOFT Platform Center. “We have built a gaming platform in two to three layers to ensure an outstanding user experience. Our collaboration with Workspot adds an additional layer that takes the quality of our services to new heights, all aimed at delighting our customers.”
