Former Meta VP Joins Creator Commerce Platform Spring as President & COO

Spring the industry-defining creator commerce platform with 9 Million creators announces the appointment of former Meta VP of Commerce Partnerships, Annelies Jansen, as President & COO.

Spring is behind commerce integrations across social channels including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and more, empowering creators with an end-to-end solution to design, promote and sell bespoke physical and digital products. In her new role, Annelies will focus on developing Spring’s partnerships strategy, to drive growth across the core areas of the platform; enhanced tools for creators, distribution and a leading network of global fulfilment partners. Annelies will also oversee the general operations of the business alongside CEO Chris Lamontagne, as they strive to position Spring as the go-to global commerce platform for the creator economy.

With over 25 years of experience in the world of digital and social media, Annelies demonstrates an innate understanding of content and commerce business models. Annelies recognises the importance of the balance between leading and inspiring creatives, whilst growing and developing diverse revenue avenues. Prior to joining Spring, Annelies was VP of Commerce Partnerships at Meta, where she successfully developed a global network of first and third party commerce partners to bring content and functionality to Facebook Commerce. A career highlight for Annelies during her time at Meta was launching Instagram checkout in 2019.

Born in a small town in the north of the Netherlands, Annelies’ exemplary career has seen her develop a stellar track record of leadership and spearheading digital operational transformations across three continents. Her work has taken her around the globe, leading to her ability to master cultural challenges in business, and supported by her ability to speak six languages. Before being headhunted by Facebook in 2017 – where she built a global team from scratch and worked with partners in over 20 countries – Annelies has been at the helm of more than a dozen businesses. She was also responsible for pioneering the digital media shift at renowned national UK newspapers including The Times and The Daily Telegraph as well as broadcasting giant ITV.

Annelies appeared in the ES top 1000 Londoners list in 2007, the top 100 Women list of Financieel Dagblad, and GP Bullhound presented her with the ‘Women of the Year’ award in 2013.
