CLEAR has onboarded Channel 4’s content suppliers, including major studios, migrated petabytes of Channel 4’s archive, and has qualified its delivery BOTS supplying content to Channel 4’s video-on- demand platform, All4, and all other Channel 4 digital partners. CLEAR, at the heart of this deployment, is integrated with Channel 4’s scheduling system and orchestrates workflows across third-party vendors, including Localization, Postproduction, and Playout for all Channel 4’s linear & digital platforms. Additionally, working closely with Channel 4 and its commercials aggregators, CLEAR, for the first time in the UK, supports the AS-11 X6: MXF Program Contribution – DPP HD Commercials & Promotions standard for the delivery of finished HD Commercials and Promotions to Channel 4.
Andy Bell, Chief Engineer, Channel 4, said: “To manage a complex operation set up like ours and entirely undertake this project during the pandemic was not an easy feat. I’d like to credit PFT as a superb strategic partner who helped us get out of a tough spot, recover and help go live with CLEAR so we could resume our Media Services operations.”

Nick Kaimakami, Executive Vice President & Head – EMEA & USA East, Prime Focus Technologies, said: “What we have done for Channel 4 is a reflection of what a modern content supply chain automation looks like – one platform to automate the supply chain across a multi-vendor network of service providers for both linear & digital businesses. CLEAR’s unique & proven architecture of the application going to where the content is, helped us combine Cloud & our Leeds hybrid cloud infrastructure with running the Media & Online Operations.”
Late last year, PFT launched a new hybrid-cloud media center in Leeds to help manage the content operations. The company’s physical facility close to the City Center of Leeds is located near Channel 4’s new national headquarters.
