Telkomsel (PT Telekomunikasi Selular) and Ericsson announced their renewed partnership to grow and strengthen their existing 4G / 5G networks footprint in Indonesia. Ericsson has been providing connectivity and has deployed its energy-efficient 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) products and solutions from the Ericsson Radio System in Aceh, Northern Sumatra, Central & West Sumatra and Eastern part of Kalimantan, including New Capitol City (Nusantara). Thus, in B2B (Business-to-Business) segment, 5G services for Industry have been pioneered through 5G deployment in a leading manufacturing company in Batam since 2021.

Ericsson is powering Telkomsel’s network with its ultra-lightweight, energy-efficient Massive MIMO antenna integrated radio AIR 3219 that will serve to address future 5G and Fixed Wireless Access and Convergence (FWA/FMC) requirements.

The new generation Massive MIMO radios from Ericsson have been developed with the goal of having industry-leading, energy efficient products with the smallest size and lightest weight possible.

Ericsson today powers 147 live 5G networks across 63 countries across the globe. Ericsson’s 5G leadership has been recognized by important independent analyst reports: Gartner 5G Magic Quadrant 2023, (third year in a row) and Frost Radar Global 5G Infrastructure. Ericsson also scored the number 1 position in the latest ABI Research report on telco vendors sustainability.

Ericsson and Telkomsel announced their renewed partnership at the Ericsson Imagine Live event held in Jakarta today. Ericsson Imagine Live represents a showcase of the company’s latest innovations and technology demonstrations. The technology demos encompass key topics including network evolution, capturing new business opportunities with 5G, start-up innovations and digital transformation initiatives of enterprises from across the globe.
With a presence in Indonesia for 116 years, Ericsson has been playing a pivotal role in powering virtually every facet of telecommunications in the country – providing connectivity across 2G, 3G, 4G and now 5G.
