Gemba Academy Introduces Online, On-demand, Video-based course on Focused Improvement in their Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Series
Gemba Academy, the world’s largest provider of continuous improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma training and certification is pleased to introduce an online, on-demand, video-based course on Focused Improvement. This course is part of our larger series on Total Productive Maintenance and describes how the pillar of Focused Improvement in TPM is a set of activities designed to increase the overall equipment effectiveness of plants and their processes. Users will learn how Focused Improvement promotes a stable environment for the other pillars of TPM and how it specifically targets the six big losses.
“Our team has been working hard as we continue to build out our Total Productive Maintenance series. Most recently we’ve focused on the concept of Focused Improvement,” explains Kevin Meyer, partner and co-founder. “This is an especially important concept since organizations just getting started with TPM often realize they need to stabilize equipment conditions, improve reliability, and raise OEE, or Overall Equipment Effectiveness before they can build their planned and autonomous maintenance systems. Focused Improvement activities are the first steps they take in such situations.”
Specifically, Focused Improvement takes a narrow and deep approach by targeting the six big losses one at a time. An active Focused Improvement program can be a driver for innovation and knowledge development.
