Comcast Acquires BluVector Prioritizing AI-Powered Cybersecurity for Business

AiThority recently covered Comcast’s acquisition of BluVector. Comcast is United States’ biggest cable operator. The company also operates in the broadband and telephone sphere. These three businesses combined proudly boast of a subscriber base of around 30 million.

Now, Comcast has purchased BluVector, an AI-Powered cybersecurity enterprise. With the acquisition, Comcast plans to bolster its operations in the following areas:

• Cybersecurity
• Cyber protection
• Information Security
• Network Security

With a huge influx of myriad technologies getting constantly integrated into business operations, the threat of a security breach looms large. Varied technologies have given hackers a plethora of channels to break-in and cause major damage to enterprise/consumer data.

Comcast has been trying very hard to win back its customers after the company ran into some problems with the same. The purchase of a business ecosystem security brand is likely to put Comcast back in the brand value map.

The announcement was made at the RSA Security conference held this year. The surprising element about the acquisition though, is that Comcast has not clearly stated whether or not it will be integrating BluVector’s capabilities or the sum at which it brought the company. As against the popular perception, Comcast may go all the way to run BluVector as a separate entity and try and grow its business. This is because BluVector currently integrates with leading cybersecurity players such as:

BluVector’s Cortex platform has been hailed by industry experts to be the finest for cybersecurity. The product is counted to be the future of Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS). Also, BlueVector is constantly innovating the platform with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and speculative code execution.

Bluvector, which has won government contracts in the recent past for cybersecurity, is a proven enterprise to block sophisticated cyber threats. In case Comcast decides to integrate BluVector, the former will get a huge boost in brand value. However, Comcast may just have completely different plans with BluVector.
