Lynxspring Donates Onyxx LX Building Controllers, Thermostats and Room Sensors to Georgia Piedmont Technical College Building Automation Systems Program

Lynxspring, Inc., a premier developer and provider of open software and hardware platforms, solutions, and services for smarter buildings, equipment control, and device-to-enterprise integration, announced it donated a variety of Onyxx LX products that will be used in the Building Automation Systems Program lab at Georgia Piedmont Technical College, in Clarkston, Georgia.

Working with its partner, Southland Controls, LLC, a leading building controls provider in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area, Lynxspring provided configurable controllers, smart thermostats, and digital room sensors. The lab is a state-of-the-art working environment that utilizes actual equipment and systems that are currently in commercial buildings. Students work on a variety of systems with tools and software that an actual technician uses in the field.

Encompassing a comprehensive range of current technologies and disciplines to maintain comfort, control and energy savings in residential and commercial HVAC systems and facilities, the Building Automation Systems curriculum provides students with the understanding of building automation and system integration, along with the knowledge on how to install, service and sell controls equipment including access controls, fire alarm systems, lighting controls, security systems, and HVAC controls.

Students learn the combination of skills that enable them to enter the field of building automation and controls. They can choose to work for major controls companies who specialize in building automation, for companies whose focus is purely installation of automation systems, and/or for facilities management companies who focus on commercial systems and controls automation.
