Smooth Collaboration in Multivendor Environments
The fresh approach will allow a ‘direct guest join’ capability for users from each other’s Video conferencing devices. Cisco users can join a Microsoft Teams meeting from a Webex Room Device and vice versa. These capabilities will be supported on the latest generation meeting room devices that can run using embedded web technologies. Cisco said that it will support more vendors in the future. Cisco and Microsoft being top players, cater to a massive customer base. Hence, when the facility becomes operational in 2020, thousands of startups and enterprises will be benefitted.
Why SD-WAN – Cloud Connectivity?
As operations move to the internet, the security and consistency of the medium become a challenge. Traditional wide-area network had offered both. SD-WAN technology help users to securely link corporate headquarters to branch offices and data centers. According to Cisco, Cloud-scale SD-WAN solution has witnessed a phenomenal growth owing to its flexibility, scalability, and security. With Cisco technology, users can achieve an SD-WAN overlay fabric to connect data centers, branches, campuses, and colocation facilities to improve network speed, security, and efficiency.
“When I meet CIOs in small and large enterprises, they almost always ask if Cisco can do more to help their employees get the best application experience in Cloud apps and services while maintaining high security,” said Sachin Gupta, Senior Vice President, Product Management for Cisco Enterprise Networking.
Partnership To Accelerate Your Hybrid Cloud Strategies
Cisco and Microsoft are extending their existing partnership to improve network connectivity to Cloud-based applications. This will help seamlessly enable direct Internet access to applications such as Office 365. The customers can improve connectivity from branch offices to Microsoft by integrating Cisco’s SD-WAN with Microsoft’s Azure Virtual WAN and Office 365.
“As organizations modernize, their network with software-defined WAN to support Cloud-based Digital Transformation, Microsoft is excited to announce a deeper partnership with Cisco to integrate Cisco SD-WAN, Azure Virtual WAN and Office 365,” said Yousef Khalidi, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Azure Networking.
By combining Cisco’s market-leading, secure, cloud-scale SD-WAN architecture with Microsoft’s Azure Virtual WAN and Office 365, customers can confidently accelerate their Hybrid Cloud strategies.
