Novartis Biome India, a Digital Innovation Hub, Launched

Global multinational Pharmaceutical company Novartis is expanding its digital innovation footprints to Asia. This week, Novartis launched Novartis Biome India in Hyderabad. The global pharma dedicated the new hub to boost the connection and interaction between Novartis and partners across the digital healthcare ecosystem.

What is Novartis Biome?

Novartis Biome is a digital lab built in-house to scale data science and digital technology’s adoption across global locations. It was started to bring together the various technologies to disrupt Healthcare, E-Pharma, and related Life Sciences technologies under one roof. Apart from providing data and digital innovation capabilities, Novartis Biome will also host a wide array of IT sandbox components that accelerate collaboration and innovation seamlessly across markets. With Biome India, the company is suited to “scale up, complement and enhance the progress made by startups and health innovators in India.”

The first Novartis Biome hub was started from San Francisco in October 2018, since scaling globally to various locations with established digital ecosystems.

At the time of this announcement, Novartis also announced the launch of a partner-centric challenge. It’s called the HealthX Challenge at BioAsia. Novartis’ Chief Digital Office is sponsoring this state-of-the-art challenge to identify, analyze and solve current Healthcare challenges that are facing India and other Asian countries. The HealthX Challenge is hosting a series of hackathons, virtual challenges, pitch competitions and more. Popular categories include:

1. AI ML and Predictive Intelligence for Healthcare
2. Video Surveillance for Lab Monitoring and Clinical Studies
3. Advanced Accelerator Applications in Nuclear medicine
4. Deep Learning-Based Computer Vision

In the last three years, Novartis has built a very strong foundation for its Research and Development in Pharmaceuticals. It has undergone a massive Digital Transformation powered by a CoE in Hyderabad that works extensively on STEM capabilities using AI ML, Robotics, Industrial Automation, and Big Data Science. With a focus on developing better tools and technologies, and to provide a suitable synergistic ecosystem to its partners and customers, Novartis developed Biome hub. Advanced analytics is the way forward for Novartis and its partnership ecosystem.
