CloudMoyo Crew Management to Deliver Innovation and Automation for Rail Industry on Microsoft Azure
CloudMoyo, Inc announced the release of the next-generation CloudMoyo Crew Management (CCM) solution, built on the CloudMoyo transportation platform. CCM benefits from the productive and trusted Microsoft Azure cloud platform, harnessing analytics and artificial intelligence to enhance agility and improve operational efficiencies for railroads. CCM also helps to ensure compliance with FRA regulations, Drug and Alcohol testing, and union rules.
The CCM solution allows crew from different geographies to operate seamlessly through automated re-crewing operations. It has been configured to efficiently assign crew members to trains, while factoring in crew eligibility, hours of service (HOS), and duty hour compliances. The solution manages worklists for the yard crew, arbitraries management, and calculates pay rates based on the applicable union agreements. It now includes a self-service, mobile application that allows crew members to accept or reject crew calls, complete tie-ups, and initiate leave applications on their mobile devices.

Railroad modernization initiatives like Precision Scheduled Railroading (PSR) demand agility to keep up with the rapidly changing technology landscape and continuously evolving business models in the transportation industry. Leading Class 1, short line, and regional railroads are already deploying or considering the cloud-based CCM solution, which improves customer service, optimizes asset utilization, and lowers operating costs.
“CloudMoyo is recognized as an innovative, customer-focused leader, delivering crew management and transportation management software for the rail and transportation industry,” said CloudMoyo co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Manish Kedia. “Our collaboration with Microsoft enables us to help joint railroad customers reimagine the railroad digitization roadmap, improve their operating ratios and enable them to realize their vision of Precision Railroading.”
Kristina Nissen, General Manager, Microsoft Corp. said, “Microsoft Azure delivers industry leading cloud services, including advanced analytics and AI while delivering the scale for mission-critical enterprise applications for the railroad industry. CloudMoyo Crew Management delivers an enterprise grade, cloud-first design that is delivering innovation to optimize and incorporate predictive crew optimizations versus traditional legacy crew calling, crew rostering, and crew scheduling systems”.
Both CloudMoyo and Microsoft will be presenting at the Crew Management and Time Keeping Conference in Kansas City on April 22-25, 2019. As part of this year’s conference agenda, the CloudMoyo team will discuss about innovation in rail crew management, highlighting key platform imperatives addressed by the CloudMoyo Rail Transportation Suite (CRTM).
