Detechtion Technologies, the proven Asset Performance Management, Industrial IoT, and Mobile Field Services Management solution provider in the Upstream Oil & Gas industry, announced the launch of the new multi-mode Enbase Hub, which offers multiple configurations supporting two cellular communications channels and a third satellite communications channel. This advance in technology gives peace of mind that crucial information about oilfield assets is securely delivered to the right person at the right time.

Detechtion’s Enbase IIoT platform provides a turnkey solution for the Oil & Gas industry to remotely monitor oilfield assets such as natural gas compressors with a completely integrated stack including edge device, edge software, cellular and satellite network communications, and cloud software. The Enbase Hub, Detechtion’s market leading edge device, is the key component of this stack with a cellular modem capable of operating on any carrier’s LTE network. Historically, though, this cellular modem only utilized a single SIM card. The new multi-mode Enbase Hub utilizes a cellular modem with two SIM cards installed and activated, providing coverage from two cellular carriers.

“Detechtion has long taken advantage of the ubiquity and affordability of cellular networks for connectivity to our edge devices,” said Virgil Haney, Chief Technology Officer of Detechtion. “This has created the ability for our customers to have visibility to a denser set of data for decision making. There are still areas where cell coverage from a single network is not adequate, and dual SIM capability combined with a satellite option ensures essential callouts are received immediately when critical events, such as shutdowns, occur.”

This is a quantum leap from the previous single SIM card which was limited to one cellular network. Having two cellular communications channels enables your Hub to reliably communicate your asset’s alarms and measurements, despite low or even no coverage from one of the cellular carriers. Additionally, multi-mode Hubs increase efficiency for ordering, installing and moving Hubs, as there is no need to consider cellular coverage or specify a carrier ahead of time. In addition to the new onboard dual-SIM cellular modem, Enbase Hubs can be ordered with the optional onboard satellite modem, or in conjunction with the Enbase Expansion Satellite Module.

“Our mission is to create value by bringing connectivity and automation to remote and hazardous environments,” said Haney, “and the new multi-mode Enbase Hub expands that value by offering multiple configurations to optimize reliability and cost.”
