Hospitality Tech Start-up Hires Ex Novus Marketing Director as Chief Marketing Officer
Ambl the brand-new platform set to transform and build recovery for the hospitality industry by matching people with real-time availability has announced the appointment of Simon Gaske as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Gaske brings almost 20 years’ experience in hospitality marketing and will be instrumental in leading the official launch of Ambl across the Square Mile, London next month.
Award-winning Gaske began his marketing career in 2005 at Novus and LateNightLondon.co.uk, and quickly gained recognition as a pre-bookings and customer experience expert. He then moved to Barracuda Pub Co. as Sales and Digital Marketing Manager which he left to launch his own hospitality marketing consultancy. In 2014, Gaske joined Davy’s Wine Merchants as Head of Sales and Marketing, before returning to Novus as Marketing Director and then moving on to Stonegate Pub Company – the largest pub company in the UK – as Sales Director.

Drawing on his experience, Gaske will be responsible for federating marketing efforts to effectively launch the London-based start-up, supporting the CEO and creating synergy between the user experience and the hospitality sector to support the company’s growth.
Aaron Solomon, CEO and Co-Founder for Ambl, comments: “It’s a real honour to welcome Simon into the Ambl fold. His experience makes him the perfect candidate. His strategic thinking, leadership, industry knowledge and depth of experience are incredibly vital as the brand gears up for our official launch in London.”
Simon Gaske, Chief Marketing Officer at Ambl, adds: “I have always wanted to make an impact and there is something about the mission Ambl has which made this an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. I feel incredibly enthused and motivated towards the concept. It’s the solution that will allow the hospitality sector to flourish – for some it may even be as black and white as survival – because it’s a product which has been created based on behaviours. Most importantly it’s a win-win for both the consumer and for the hospitality sector when dining out on a whim. It’s a real privilege to have joined a technology company set to boost the hospitality sector.”

Gaske joins Ambl at an incredibly exciting, yet crucial time for the industry. Data shows that people who do not turn up to reservations made at pubs and restaurants are costing the sector £17.6bn a year.
Ambl is on a mission to combat the current loss in revenue and footfall within hospitality venues by filling empty seats that arise from last-minute or same-day cancellations. The start-up has huge ambition to own the spontaneous market; offering consumers reservations to restaurants and bars in real-time. Whether it is a last-minute work dinner, a rooftop cocktail or a signature experience at the latest hotspot, everything is possible with the use of Ambl.
Having raised £1.3m over the last 12 months, Ambl has rapidly grown from a team of just three to 12. The platform already has over 5,500 users signed up pre-launch and over 1,200 restaurants registered with some huge names showing interest including St John, Marcus Wareing, Fiend, Bob Bob Ricard, JKS Restaurants and Richard Corrigan’s places and is fast becoming one to watch.
