Google debuted Immersive View for routes during this year’s I/O conference. Users of Android and iOS devices will be able to make use of Immersive View for routes in the following cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tokyo, and Venice.

AI-powered feature Immersive View
Using hundreds of Street views and aerial photographs, the AI-powered feature Immersive View for locations enables users to sample restaurants and landmarks before they actually visit them. Google also announced this week that it has added photorealistic 3D tiles to the Google Maps Platform, allowing developers to create their own immersive experiences.
Lens in Maps (formerly known as Search with Live View) blends artificial intelligence (AI) with augmented reality (AR), according to Google, to help people better understand and interact with their environments.
Google says this feature makes it easy to find local services like ATMs, public transport stops, restaurants, cafés, and retail establishments by just tapping the Lens symbol in the search bar and raising the phone. More than 50 more cities, including Austin, Las Vegas, Rome, So Paulo, Taipei, and more, now have access to Lens in Maps, marking the feature’s largest expansion to yet.

More accurate reflection of the reality
Google revealed in a blog post that it is working on making the navigation map a more accurate reflection of the reality around its users. Users will see updated colors and improved building rendering on the updated map. Users may now see enhanced lane data on highways to better prepare for turns. These revisions will be released in stages over the course of the next few months in a total of 12 nations.
The California-based tech giant is increasing functionality for Google-integrated autos starting this week. According to Google’s blog post, information on charging stations is now more readily available to EV drivers using Android and iOS devices.
