Cequence Application Security Platform Wins Best Web Application Honors at 2020 SC Awards
Cequence Security announced that its Application Security Platform (ASP) has been honored as a Trust Award winner in the Best Web Application category of the 2020 SC Awards. Trust Award winners were selected by an expert panel of judges with deep knowledge and experience in cybersecurity. Winners were announced at the SC Awards ceremony on February 25, 2020 in San Francisco.
“Today’s digital economy is driven by hyper-connected organizations whose Internet-facing applications and APIs are increasingly the targets of advanced semantic and syntactic attacks that must be protected”
The recognition by the SC Awards committee acknowledges the protections that the Platform uniquely provides, which have resulted in increased adoption by financial services organizations, credit unions and retail institutions over the last year. The Cequence Application Security Platform uses an agentless approach to protecting APIs and web applications from automated bot attacks and vulnerability exploits.

The core of the platform is CQAI, an ML-powered engine, which performs a single-pass, multi-dimensional analysis of cyberattacks. The CQAI findings can then be used for policy enforcement by CQ botDefense and CQ appFirewall. Alternatively, the findings can be exported to elements of the existing IT infrastructure for analysis or an alternative response.
“Today’s digital economy is driven by hyper-connected organizations whose Internet-facing applications and APIs are increasingly the targets of advanced semantic and syntactic attacks that must be protected,” said Ameya Talwalkar, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Cequence Security. “This past year has proven just how effective the Cequence Application Security Platform is at detecting and defending against threats, and we’re truly honored to have been named the Best Web Application in SC Awards’ prestigious Trust Category.”

The Cequence ASP can be deployed as a SaaS, on premises or in the cloud. Enterprises benefit from its open architecture that provides seamless integration and information exchange with other security tools in the network, and gives security teams a more complete view of attack and response information. Security teams also gain visibility into apps that need protecting through automatic discovery of all web, mobile and API-based applications an organization has deployed.
Now in its 24th year, SC Awards is recognized as the industry gold standard of accomplishment for cybersecurity professionals, products and services. With the awards, SC Media recognizes the achievements of cybersecurity professionals in the field, the innovations happening in the vendor and service provider communities, and the vigilant work of government, commercial and nonprofit entities. Vendors and service providers who offer a product and/or service for the commercial, government, educational, nonprofit or other industries are eligible for the SC Awards’ Trust Award category.
