Deloitte Launches New Children Services Case Management Solution Built on the Salesforce Platform

Deloitte announced a next generation software as a service (SaaS) platform for children services case management systems built on the Salesforce platform. By breaking down the traditional silos of information technology systems, this new platform innovates children services programs. It moves the focus from individual silos within a child or family’s case, to a more holistic view of the child and family, ultimately helping to improve outcomes for the children and families.

Additionally, the solution enhances case management practices by enabling better cross program collaboration, increased digital engagement with families, and a more informed 360-view of children and their families. While unified, it has also been designed to align with the Comprehensive Child Welfare System goals of modular design, enabling agile implementations, shorter time to benefit, and higher value for our clients.

The solution is anchored by child welfare, juvenile justice, child care, provider licensing and behavioral health applications. The modularity enables individual components to be implemented first to align with client priorities. For example, with previous clients Deloitte has implemented mandated reporting, intake and investigation as the first step in the overall platform modernization process.

Why it matters

Caseworkers serve on the front lines protecting one of America’s most vulnerable populations—children. A caseworker’s job is complex by nature. Ensuring the safety of a child while stabilizing their situation and promoting the child’s wellbeing is a daunting task. Workplace realities and large caseloads limit the amount of time a caseworker can spend with any given family and make that mission harder.

Many states’ legacy information technology systems are unable to accommodate new digital collaboration models, or the pace of change required to accommodate practice models, state and federal regulations, and procedural variations. Deloitte’s new cloud-based solution helps address those challenges and provides a data-driven process to support case practice review, verification of practice outcomes and compliance with federal program and reporting requirements.

Key takeaways

  • Cutting edge tech meets decades of experience: The solution combines the new SaaS platform with the deep functional capabilities drawn from Deloitte’s more than 20 years of children services system implementation experience.
  • Mobile platform for mobile work: The solution facilitates work where it takes place. Most caseworkers spend a significant portion of their time outside the office directly serving youth and families Deloitte’s children services solution includes a mobile platform that allows case workers both online and offline access to their caseload.
  • Real-time collaboration capabilities: The solution promotes collaboration internally, between social workers, and externally, between social workers, clients, and providers. It offers built-in mechanisms to capture conversations, ask questions, chat, and otherwise communicate in a natural social context.
  • Better partnerships, better outcomes: The solution enriches the partnership between all individuals involved with a case through customer service portals which provide families and community partners with both access to their case and another means to connect with the agency. This improved collaboration between all constituents can lead to faster response rates, better data quality, and most importantly — better outcomes for children.
