The Five Waymo Open Dataset Challenges
Leading Mobility tech startup- Waymo, has announced the expansion of the Waymo Open Dataset. This would allow the global research community to join Waymo in accelerating the self-driving technology and other mobility applications.
The spread of COVID-19 has shown us the perils of losing touch with Healthcare objectives. Alienated tech innovations can put any society out of order, leading to a breakdown in the socio-economic structures. That’s why we need to continue with our innovations and collaborations across all industries. The Waymo Open Dataset challenge encourages this idea of innovation and gives a clarion call to the research community.
According to Waymo, we can still “thrive in our temporarily virtual world.”
Challenge winners will be given the opportunity to present their work at our Workshop on Scalability in Autonomous Driving at CVPR 2020 in Seattle on June 14, 2020, or depending on developments, other suitable venues.
The Waymo Open Dataset will invite applications from 800 segments, encouraging researchers to participate in five diverse categories.
The five Waymo Open Dataset Challenges:
- 2D Detection
- 2D Tracking
- 3D Detection
- 3D Tracking
- Domain Adaptation
Waymo is offering awards to the top submissions in each of the five challenges as follows:
– Winner: $15,000
– 1st Runners-up: $5,000
– 2nd Runners-up: $2,000
Applicants can submit to Waymo’s Open Dataset Challenges until May 31, 2020. Waymo has confirmed leaderboard will remain open for future submissions.
