Redgrave LLP Equity Partners, Jonathan Redgrave, Announce The Formal Launch Of RETI

Company focuses on meeting needs for effective computer-based employee training regarding legal and regulatory compliance issues

Redgrave Education & Training, Inc. (RETI) formally announces its market entry as of July 2020.  RETI produces computer-based courses to help companies educate their employees to meet compliance objectives involving the creation, transfer, storage, discovery, production, protection, and destruction of information in business.

“The temporary and perhaps permanent move of many employees to remote locations during COVID-19 conditions in 2020 heightens the need for effective training on legal compliance issues.”

 – Victoria Redgrave, President and CEO, Redgrave Education & Training, Inc.

RETI was conceived and launched by Victoria (“Vickie”) and Jonathan Redgrave, equity partners at the law firm of Redgrave LLP.  RETI leverages their decades of combined legal experience addressing a myriad of issues, including corporate education needs.  RETI also leverages the decades of experience brought by its partners in the learning management and instructional design space to create the business’s off-the-shelf and customized courses for clients.

“We identified a need among businesses who found that traditional training methods on legal subjects were costly, inconvenient, and largely ineffective,” says Jonathan Redgrave.  “The Department of Justice Criminal Division’s recently updated Guidance on Evaluating Corporate Compliance Programs expands on the need for corporate compliance programs that are well-designed, adequately resourced, empowered to function effectively, and actually work in practice.  RETI’s courses and capabilities are directed to meet these needs in focus areas, including records and information management, legal discovery, data security, and data privacy.  Put bluntly, significant risks are posed by employees who do not know or understand their duties and obligations.  The case law is filled with sanctions against companies that can be traced directly to the failure to properly train and guide employees in these areas.”

Vickie Redgrave adds, “The temporary and perhaps permanent move of many employees to remote locations during COVID-19 conditions in 2020 heightens the need for effective training in these areas.”

To produce the courses, the team at RETI collaborated with experts in educational content creation and delivery to improve employee engagement and maximize retention.  The course modules are designed with high-end video animation and graphics and include interactive knowledge checks to increase interactivity.  Notably, Redgrave Education & Training’s inaugural overview video was recently recognized as a Gold Winner of the 41st Annual Telly Awards in the category of Non-Broadcast General-Training (for Corporate use).

RETI courses offer a host of practical benefits to companies and their employees.  Because the modules are available online, team members can access them whenever and wherever it is convenient.  In addition, RETI courses virtually eliminate the travel costs and employee downtime associated with traditional in-person alternatives for training on legal issues.

The first training modules from RETI address Legal Hold Awareness, Legal Hold Interactive Training, Good Document Practices, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  Additional courses, including Records Information Management and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), are also being produced.  Courses can be purchased off-the-shelf or can be customized.  RETI also works with clients to develop new courses to meet unique needs.

In addition, Vickie says, “While no single training course can ensure employee compliance, better courses with higher quality content and greater retention will significantly improve the situation for any company.  Moreover, even if there is failure, the deployment of courses such as ours can be a keystone to defending the reasonableness of corporate compliance programs.”
