Leveraging Medallia Living Lens technology, the survey provides an opportunity for women veterans to share their experiences via video tools that offer more nuanced opportunities for storytelling and feedback than a traditional survey alone. Enabling these conversations to take place helps ensure traditionally underrepresented populations are seen and heard.

Data from the Institute’s research will assist with educating stakeholders and service providers in addition to helping to shape policy, programs, and initiatives that combat issues facing women veterans including homelessness, unemployment, and suicide.

“Unlike traditional surveys or needs assessments where participants are checking a box or filling in the blank, which leaves little to no room for self-expression, the Women Veterans ACTION Survey uses a high-tech video, web-based data collection system to capture each women veteran’s story and turn them into quantitative, quantifiable, and actionable data thanks to our partnership with Medallia,” said Ginger Miller, Navy veteran and president and CEO of the Women Veterans Interactive Foundation. “With Medallia, we are able to hear from the unheard and see the unseen — we’re making the invisible visible.”

“We owe the highest debt to our military service women and veterans who have served and sacrificed,” said Medallia Vice President of Solution Principals Lee Becker. “We are honored to support the Women Veterans Interactive Foundation and the Women Veterans Institute as they work to understand the experiences of women veterans to help shape programs and policies to support the veteran community.”
