Penumbra Brands Adds Tenured Wireless Executive as Growth Leader for Mobile Device Accessories Company

Kevin Cundiff joins company that protects customers and their devices to enable further growth for Penumbra Brands

Penumbra Brands, a leading mobile device accessories and technology company, announced the appointment of Kevin Cundiff as Chief Growth Officer. Mr. Cundiff will lead the company’s partnership, business development and sales efforts for Gadget Guard, Black Ice, TechTonic and alara brands—products that protect mobile devices and the people who use them.

Penumbra Brands today announced the appointment of Kevin Cundiff as Chief Growth Officer.

Drawing on nearly two decades of experience in the mobile phone industry, Mr. Cundiff will work with carriers, dealers, original equipment manufacturer representatives (OEMs) and insurance companies. He will also focus on client relationships, data-driven analysis, team member growth, execution and the overall development of the business.

“During a time of great uncertainty, I felt it was important to take a progressive stance and hire a Chief Growth Officer,” said Gentry Jensen, CEO for Penumbra Brands. “Kevin’s depth of experience and accomplishments will propel Penumbra to new opportunities and success. His leadership and knowledge of the mobile landscape will help us continue to protect the phones and health of our customers.”

Mr. Cundiff has a proven ability to pivot and grow companies. He recently served as Vice President of Services and Development at uBreakiFix, helping grow the brand from 300 to 600 locations, while creating and maximizing strategic partnerships with OEMs, insurance companies and Fortune 500 organizations.

As Vice President of Fortegra/ProtectCELL, Mr. Cundiff trained retailers to maximize total wireless sales through the adoption of “Retail Moneyball,” a strategy involving analyzing retail statistics to maximize an outlet’s bottom line.

Earlier, Mr. Cundiff helped T-Mobile build multiple wireless dealers into national brands, leading to organic growth and acquisitions. On the side, he spent time working as a secondary social sciences teacher.
